Rangers boosted by player return for Motherwell clash

Steven Gerrard benefits from the return of Andy Halliday for Sunday’s trip to Fir Park.
The diehard blue nose missed the midweek win over Hearts through suspension.

That ban, of course, was a result of his dismissal after the final whistle in the recent Old Firm defeat.
However, as he was sent off for a second bookable offence, he was only sidelined for a single fixture.
On the other hand,
Ryan Kent will drop out as he begins a two-match ban for violent conduct.
He joins Alfredo Morelos, who is serving the second of a four-game cooling off period.

Halliday return bad news for Flanagan

The absence of Borna Barisic (hamstring) and Halliday, allowed summer signing Jon Flanagan to make just his second start of 2019 against Hearts.
He put in a reasonably solid display and looked a little more assured than he did earlier in the season.
However, it’s been clear of late that he’s the third choice at left-back when everyone is fit and available.
Away at Motherwell, Rangers will need to have their wits about them. After all, they conceded three times on their last trip to Fir Park.
Yet, while Flanagan is the more natural full-back, there’s no doubt Halliday offers the Gers a little more in attack.
His left foot is an asset from set pieces and he can swing the ball in from the left flank with quality.

Therefore, the ex-Liverpool may find himself making way once more, for the returning stalwart.
