Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has taken a massive step in his road to Euro 2020 redemption as he earns a recall to the Scotland national team.
The midfielder missed this summer’s European Championships through injury despite playing an influential role to get Scotland to their first major tournament in 23 years.
But Ryan Jack does have the opportunity to earn some redemption with the Scotland national team as the country vies for a spot at the World Cup for the first time since 1998.
It would almost certainly help Jacko get over his summer heartbreak with the midfielder having some making up to do following a troublesome calf problem.
However, the midfielder will have to wait to play an upcoming Qatar 2022 World Cup Playoff against Ukraine after the game was postponed until June due to the ongoing Russian invasion of the country.
Instead, Scotland will play in a friendly against Poland at Hampden on the 24th of March.
Ryan Jack steps up injury recovery with Scotland recall
This has led to some controversy surrounding the Ryan Jack Scotland recall with supporters worried about potential injury setbacks in the midfielder’s recovery.
Ex-Rangers boss Steven Gerrard infamously criticised Scotland national team manager Steve Clarke for being careless with the handling of the player’s injury problems in 2019.
There will be some scrutiny on the nation’s backroom staff and how they use Ryan Jack but injury worries aside, it is great to see the midfielder back in the Scotland set-up.

Ryan Jack is also the only Rangers player called up to the Scotland squad, with ex-Gers right-back Nathan Patterson, former academy kid Billy Gilmour also included and ex-Ibrox stopper Liam Kelly all included.
Elsewhere, Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey – once linked to Rangers during his time with Hearts – has earned his first ever call-up to the Scotland squad.
Meanwhile, a Premier League fan has gone viral for pledging his allegiance to Rangers and landing a blow on Old Firm rivals Celtic.
