Rangers star Juninho Bacuna and his Curacao teammates were on the receiving end of a shock hammering by a lower-ranked international team on Wednesday.
Just a few days after making a substitute appearance in the Gers’ comeback win over Hibernian in the Premiership, Bacuna was turning out thousands of miles away in an international friendly against Bahrain.

With Curacao currently sitting 79th in the FIFA World Rankings and Bahrain back in 91st, the visitors may have fancied their chances before kick-off and in ex-Barcelona and Ajax star Patrick Kluivert, they certainly had the higher profile of the two managers.
However, despite the first half finishing goalless, the hosts would eventually secure a very comfortable win.
A poor goalkeeping error shortly after the interval allowed Bahrain to take the lead through Mohamed Marhoon.
Curacao remained in the contest until the 83rd minute but a defensive lapse was pounced on by Ali Madan, who doubled the Persian Gulf country’s lead.

Mahdi Abduljabbar then took advantage of some Curacao tiredness to score a late brace as the friendly finished 4-0.
One positive for Bacuna was that he got a full 90 minutes under his belt, his first of the season.
Next up for Kluivert’s side is another friendly against New Zealand on Sunday and Bacuna will no doubt be hoping for another substantial runout against the All Whites.
Meanwhile, another Ibrox star could make his international debut on Thursday.
