Rangers-tipped Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland has earned a late call-up to the Scotland international squad.
The 28-year-old Jambos captain has been called up to replace Che Adams in Steven Clarke’s selection, the Southampton striker pulling out of the squad due to a groin injury.
Back on form at Hearts after a disappointing start to the season, Lawrence Shankland has five goals in five games for the Edinburgh club and ten for the season.
Scoring against Rangers in the Ibrox side’s late 2-1 League Cup win over Hearts, Shankland certainly caught the eye with the Ibrox support in the game.
Now, Lawrence Shankland will have the chance to prove his worth with Scotland and why two former Rangers captains have recently tipped the striker to move to Ibrox.
Scotland striker Lawrence Shankland tipped for Rangers
Former Ibrox captains Barry Ferguson and Lee McCulloch have both tipped Lawrence Shankland to be a star striker for Rangers.
Barry Ferguson claims that if he was in charge at Rangers he would be enquiring for Lawrence Shankland and finding out how much the Hearts striker would potentially cost.
Fellow former Ibrox captain Lee McCulloch claims that Lawrence Shankland is also “more than good enough” to be starting for Rangers every week and backed the forward to score “lots and lots of goals” for the Gers.

Rangers have been linked with Lawrence Shankland throughout his career and now fans will be able to see his Ibrox credentials on Scotland duty.
The former Ayr United and Dundee United hitman has made five caps for his country, scoring once, and he’s in the squad for the European Championship qualifiers against Georgia (A) and Norway (H).
One Rangers star who is a regular feature of the Scotland team will not be joining him.
