Rangers winger Jamie Murphy has opened up on his return from injury, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The 29-year-old missed the vast majority of last season, after sustaining serious knee ligament damage in August.

His recovery now looks complete after he started Saturday’s friendly fixture against Mansfield Town.
He’s still acting on the advice of the Rangers medical team, though and therefore, admits he doesn’t know whether or not he’ll be able to feature against Kilmarnock on the first day of the SPL season. Rugby Park was where he sustained his injury last term, although the artificial surface has since been relaid.
“It’s not for me to decide whether I’m going to play on artificial pitches or not,” said Murphy, as
“The medical staff at the club will discuss it with the manager. I have’t been told I can’t play on them or that I can. I’ll take it as it comes. I’d possibly have been fit for the last game of the season if it hadn’t been at Rugby Park.
“But when the post-split fixtures came out there was no reason for me to push my rehab for it. My first game back definitely wasn’t going to be on astroturf. So it maybe gave me a chance to slow down a bit and do things properly.”

Verdict
Plenty of Rangers fans are excited about the return of Murphy.
He’s a dynamic operator who likes to take on defenders and right now, looks like Stevie G’s best option on the left flank.
There will be competitive Europa League qualifying fixtures before the Killie clash. Therefore, Murphy is likely to have returned to action prior to 4th August.
However, if there’s any risk involved with him turning out at Rugby Park, you’ve got to imagine it won’t happen. In that case, the door would be ajar for Jordan Jones to start on the left, on his return to his former club. That’s unless Ryan Kent rejoins in the meantime…
