Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has provided an update on Glen Kamara after the midfielder received treatment and was later subbed off against Ross County [RangersTV].
Kamara replaced John Lundstram in the Gers starting XI in Dingwall after missing Thursday night’s Europa League playoff first leg against Alashkert due to suspension.
It’s no coincidence that the Gers have struggled in the matches the Finland international has missed so far this season and it was a relief for fans to see him back in action.
He produced a solid individual performance and even notched a rare assist, finding Alfredo Morelos in the box in the 56th minute before El Bufalo made the scoreline 3-1.
Ten minutes later, though, after a late challenge from a County player, Kamara required treatment and briefly left the pitch.
He returned and soldiered on for five minutes or so but was eventually subbed off for Lundstram.

However, when asked about the 25-year-old’s condition after the game, Gerrard didn’t appear to be concerned.
“I think he’s fine, I think it’s a bit of cramp,” he said [RangersTV]. “Look, Glen came back late, he’s another one who hasn’t had a full pre-season, so he’s still trying to get up to speed.”
“It’s the first time he’s played a couple of full games in a week, so he’ll get fitter and stronger, but it’s just great to have him back because he helps so much in terms of our style.
“People don’t give him the credit he deserves out of possession, he’s aggressive for us, positionally he’s excellent and he makes us play, which is a big help.”
With Kamara available to face Alashkert in Yerevan on Thursday night after completing his UEFA club competition suspension, it’s excellent news that he doesn’t appear to have done any damage of note.
The former Arsenal starlet was crucial to the Gers’ run to the last 16 of the Europa League last season and his involvement will improve their chances of getting a positive result against the Armenian champions.
Meanwhile, a club insider has provided an update after a report claimed that Rangers were considering a £5m bid from Everton for Nathan Patterson.
