Rangers striker Kemar Roofe has been pictured at a rehab clinic in Belgium as Philippe Clement sets out to get to the bottom of the striker’s injury problems.
Taking to Instagram, where he posted on the stories section of the platform on 31/10/23, Kemar Roofe uploaded a picture of himself as Belgium-based clinic Move to Cure.
Move to Cure are an Antwerp-based rehabilitation centre who focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation through mobility.
It’s no surprise that Kemar Roofe has been sent to Belgium – the country of Philippe Clement’s birth and the area of Europe with which he has most links – following comments made about the striker.
Kemar Roofe is now in his fourth season at Rangers but has been limited to only 88 appearances for the club in a damning indictment of his injury record.
An expensive £4.5m signing from Anderlecht back in 2020, Kemar Roofe was the top scorer in the 55-winning season but his lack of appearances have cost the club big ever since.
Kemar Roofe in Belgium after Philippe Clement warning
Speaking ahead of the weekend’s clash with Hearts at Ibrox, Philippe Clement was clear that rushed rehab and stuttering returns to the Rangers first team were hurting the striker.
Now in Belgium as the big coach looks to finally put an end to the 30-year-old hitman’s injury woe, Philippe Clement has warned Kemar Roofe that he won’t be returning to the Rangers fold until whatever is holding him back is resolved.
“Kemar will not be available for the weekend, for sure,” said Clement. “Probably we need to rebuild in the next weeks and take a good look at that because he’s been struggling already for a long time with the same things.
“It’s important to find out what the reason for that is and not always to find the solution to get him fit for the next game and then have him struggling for the next one and going game by game. We need to really get to the cause of the problem.

“I can do a lot of things but I’m not a doctor. I can’t say anything about that.
“We first need to make a really good assessment of how to bring Kemar back in a way that can be long-term back and not short-term.
“That’s been the case the last couple of months to get him fit for games but in between he’s been struggling. So we need to get him really fit.”
As Kemar Roofe steps up his rehab in Belgium, another high-earning Rangers star who looked to be following in his footsteps is nearing a return to training.
Kemar Roofe is also one of seven first-team stars who are out of contract come to the end of the season.
