During the course of Tuesday’s press conference, ahead of the Scottish Cup tie against Cowdenbeath, Steven Gerrard provided an injury update on two first team players.
Neither will feature on Wednesday night, but both are approaching a return from injury.
Connor Goldson

The Rangers vice-captain is yet to make an appearance after the winter break, missing the friendly against HJK Helsinki and the league fixtures against Kilmarnock and Livingston.
He was a near ever-present and stand out performer over the first half of the season.
“He [Goldson]’s not available”, said the manager, as captured by RangersTV.
“The medical department haven’t given me an exact day. But, at the same time, he’s not too far away.”
Graham Dorrans

31-year-old Scotland International, Dorrans, has been on the treatment table for some time.
He has been dogged by injury since arriving at Ibrox in July 2017.
The ex-West Brom man featured three times for the club in September, before the decision was taken to undergo knee surgery.
Yet, it seems the finish line is now in sight.

“Graham is training today for the first time with the team, which is great”, said the manager.
He was quick to downplay any talk of an immediate return though.
“We’ll be patient with him because he’s missed a lot of football and been out a long time.”
Nonetheless, it’s great news that in the coming weeks we might see Dorrans back in Rangers colours.
He’s an experienced performer who will add to the managers selection headaches.
