Glen Kamara was one of the stars of the show in Rangers 2-0 Europa League victory over Sparta Prague which secured second place in Group A.

Kamara has been a key figure for the Ibrox side over the past few years. Former manager Steven Gerrard signed the Finnish international from Dundee in January 2019 and it was arguably one of his finest moves as manager.

With Rangers needing a victory by two clear goals over Sparta at Ibrox, the onus was on the home side to go after the match.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst changed the formation which enabled Kamara to sit alongside Steven Davis and prevent Sparta’s numerous attempts to attack.

His stats from the game are impressive, to say the least. The midfielder completed 87% of his attempted passes and managed to complete two out of three successful dribbles [SofaScore].

During the match, Kamara only gave possession away eight times, showing how assured he was on the ball.

Winning an incredible 12 out of his 13 duels, the midfielder didn’t shirk responsibility.

With two interceptions and five tackles, Kamara was key to preventing the Czech side from building any momentum.

Van Bronckhorst will surely have been very impressed with the 26-year-old’s performance.

Hopefully Kamara, and indeed the rest of the team can keep up the form that they showed in the new manager’s first match.

Kamara wasn’t the only one to impress, as van Bronckhorst also praised striker Alfredo Morelos.
