There can be zero injury doubts surrounding Rangers star Borna Barisic as he plays the full game for Croatia in their victory over Armenia.

The 30-year-old Ibrox full-back courted controversy by making himself available for selection for this round of European Championship qualifiers.

This was after Croatia star Borna Barisic flagged himself off the park in the eventual 5-1 demolition to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League and missed the 1-0 defeat to Celtic.

Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic had claimed in the run up to the fixtures against Latvia (H) and Armenia (A) that Borna Barisic was available for selection.

And the manager has used the under-fire Rangers star in both matches during the break with Borna Barisic coming off the bench to assist in the 5-0 demolition of Latvia over the weekend.

The left-back has also involved from the start in the country’s 1-0 victory over Armenia and wound up playing the entire match in Yerevan.

Borna Barisic removes Rangers injury doubt with Croatia

Amid questions over the left-back’s commitment to the cause at Rangers, there should now be no doubts about the availability of Borna Barisic for the weekend’s must-win clash at St Johnstone.

Rangers boss Michael Beale is a man under immense pressure and needs all the help he can get as the Ibrox side vie to get back to winning ways at McDiarmid Park.

Borna Barisic’s 32nd cap for Croatia also comes at a time when the left-back is being linked with a move away from Rangers.

Reports in the Balkans country had claimed that the Rangers star was a major target for Croatian First League champions Dinamo before the window slammed shut.

However, these reports were rebuffed in Scotland even if Borna Barisic is now in the final year of his contract at Rangers.

Signed under Steven Gerrard back in 2018, Borna Barisic is now in his sixth season at Ibrox and has made a total 208 appearances for the Gers, scoring nine goals.
