Rangers given Kemar Roofe news after Sky Sports update

Philippe Clement will be hoping to continue his good start to life as Rangers manager against Sparta Prague and having Kemar Roofe available will help his cause.

The Jamaica international made the cut when Michael Beale named his squad for the Europa League and a place on the bench could be on the cards.

The 30-year old, considering his recent seasons, has had decent availability this year and his latest injury absence appears to have just been a minor setback, with Sky Sports covering Rangers build up and Kemar Roofe’s involvement in training.

Rangers have Kemar Roofe back after Sky Sports revelation

Roofe has missed the last four games and in that time, Danilo has emerged as the first-choice striker.

Fully fit, the top goalscorer from 2020/21 and our title winning season, probably, edges Cyriel Dessers in term of who should back him up.

As well as keeping himself available, the problem that Kemar Roofe has, is that the new Rangers manager appears to rank robustness high on his list of qualities when selecting his players and, in fairness to Dessers, he has been available for every minute this season.

Roofe, like Danilo, has a similar mobility in that he has an uncanny knack of being able to find space when it is limited, he is also another natural goalscorer.

We’ve yet to see what he can do in a Philippe Clement team and his work rate, movement and natural desire to attack could be useful either in rotation or in support of Danilo.

What is certain is that having as many senior, experienced, and quality players available as possible is only going to be a good thing and, after a period of uncertainty, it’s great to see him back.

It is impossible for Rangers fans to expect Kemar Roofe to stay fit for the rest of the season but if his current availability continues then he will have a part to play.

As he might against Sparta Prague.
