Rangers need all the help they can get in the Scottish Premiership title race and the latest news coming out of Celtic Park may just be about to hand them at title boost.
The Ibrox side have changed managers during the World Cup break after Giovanni van Bronckhorst and the club’s Dutch coaching staff fell nine points behind their eternal rivals in the Scottish Premiership.

Former Ibrox assistant Michael Beale is the man tasked with hauling back the points difference in the Scottish top-flight and we’re sure he will waste no time in doing just that.
But as Rangers look got a positive omen with three Old Firm games to come, it may just have happened in the shape of disruption in the Celtic squad.
Celtic face January disruption as Rangers hope for stability
The Daily Record are claiming that Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis is likely to leave the club in January after Celtic failed to agree a suitable pay increase for the striker.
The report claims that the Parkhead club had agreed to negotiate a wage increase if the player’s first season was successful but that both parties are at an impasse.
It’s not just the Greek forward either – Croatian right-back Josip Juranovic is said to be in the same boat whilst there are murmurs that midfielder Matt O’Riley is another on the verge of being shipped out.
That potential disruption will be music to the ears of Rangers fans and comes after manager Ange Postecoglou primed the Parkhead support for sales to happen in the coming windows.
Rangers and Michael Beale will be hoping to fully capitalise when the league starts and maybe – just maybe – if Celtic slip up before playing us and we beat them on January 2nd, will the pressure start to take its toll.
Meanwhile, one exit-linked Rangers star could be set to stay at Ibrox.
