Rangers have multiple players being targeted by clubs for potential transfers in January, non more so than Glen Kamara

The Finnish international has been subject to many scouting missions as well as multiple reports of suitors from round Europe.

The Scottish Sun recently claimed that Serie A side Salernitana are keen to bring the midfielder in during the mid season transfer window.

Kamara was also close to joining Nice in the summer but the move fell through at the final moments which also had knock on effects for Rangers target Nicolas Raskin as his move to Glasgow fell through as a result.

Glen Kamara’s January Serie A move may now be put off in favour of Rangers stay

Michael Beale’s arrival at Rangers however may have changed the trajectory of Glen Kamara’s career in Govan. He is a favourite of Beale’s and has a strong relationship with the manager.

Signed for 55k by Gerrard and then first team coach Beale in 2019 Kamara was a regular feature in the side that would claim title number 55. He earned the nickname ‘silky Glen’ and was seen as one of the best bargain buys in Scottish football history.

Under Giovanni Van Bronckhorst though his appearances faded and he became a bit part player who looked destined for the off.

Many in the game still expect the transfer bids to come but some whispers of a contact extension have started and perhaps he is once again about to be the key in Rangers midfield.

Kamara has three years left on his deal and perhaps a point that Mr Beale could help him prove in the blue of Rangers and not at another club.

If Kamara is to go Rangers would make a handsome profit and the departure of the 55k man could see finally see the arrival of long term transfer target Raskin.

With rangers recruitment team in full drive for additions perhaps this is the time for Glen Kamara to show he is still ready for the challenge at Ibrox

Meanwhile, another midfielder with Rangers links could be set to join a La Liga side.
