Rangers are yet to open contract talks with influential midfielder Ryan Jack despite the fact his current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.
This was confirmed by the Scotland international himself as he discussed his future in the press ahead of what promises to be a vital six month period for the player at Ibrox.

Signed in the summer of 2017 on a free contract after the expiration of his deal at Aberdeen, Jack has proven an important and talented player at times during his some five-and-a-half years at Ibrox.
But it has been half a decade of injury problems and playing squad interruptions that leaves Jack with some work to do on conVincent Rangers fans that he deserves a new contract.
On his day Jacko is one of the most influential and important players in the Rangers team but the club has struggled to get a consistent run of games out the player as well as performances over the course of the last couple of seasons.
Now back in the Rangers team and hoping to catch the eye of Ibrox manager Michael Beale – who also worked with Jack during his time as Stephen Gerrard‘s assistant – Ryan has confirmed that he’d love to stick around for longer but that Rangers are yet to open discussions over a new contract.
Ryan Jack confirms no talks over new Rangers contract
“Obviously I am up at the end of the season and I have not spoken to the club, there has been nothing so far,” said Jack [Herald].
“I have said before, I am just going to work hard, keep my head down, play my football and whatever happens will happen.
“Well look I think obviously it is your life. You have a young family and things outside football and your contract situation determines where your family is going to be and etc, etc.
“But for me I just need to keep playing football, focus on trying to play week-in, week-out at Rangers and then I will see what happens.
“I have been here five years and without a doubt I am happy at the club. I am settled and I love playing for the club.
“But it is one of those situations, I have not had that conversation with anyone. When that conversation comes then we will sit down and see what that plan is for the future.
“I think sometimes the manager can have that conversation with you or Ross (Wilson) can have that conversation with you.
“I think I am old enough now that I can be approached and I can speak but obviously you have got your agent to sort the contracts out but it is nowhere near that at the minute.
“It is just focussing on playing football and when the conversation comes we will see what happens.”
Ryan Jack has played in 167 games for Rangers scored 13 goals and laid on 13 assists, whilst he also has 14 caps for the Scotland national team.
Meanwhile, Rangers have already handed out a new contract to another key first-team player whose deal was expiring at the end of the season.
