Rangers will wear their commemorative all-white “very special” Castore Gallant Pioneers kit for the visit of Aberdeen in March as part of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
The Gers will become the first major European club to turn a century-and-a-half this coming March and Rangers have announced a series of celebrations leading up to the event.
This season has seen Rangers focus on the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations with an updated badge combined with a range of special gold inlay kits based on designs through the years.
However, the club have also released a hugely popular all-white kit based on the popular all-white jersey worn in a famous photo of the founders of the club, the Gallant Pioneers.
Consequently, Castore are also set to release a special PRO edition of the kit that will be presented in a luxury, limited edition box.
On top of wearing the Gallant Pioneers jersey against Aberdeen on March 5th, Rangers will also embrace a series of celebrations in the month of Match ahead of their 150th birthday.
Rangers Gallant Pioneers plans just part of 150th celebrations
Kicking off on March 4th, a selection of MyGers members and supporters will be invited to a special “Moonlighters evening”, so-called after one of the Ibrox club’s first ever nicknames.
This was due to late-night training sessions ahead of the club’s first ever Scottish Cup appearance in 1877 and the evening will include a unique stadium tour through some of the club’s oldest memorabilia, with the event to be captured by RangersTV.
There will also be a special 150th anniversary website landing page to keep track of all the celebrations, whilst the Aberdeen match will see a special commemorative programme launched alongside the Gallant Pioneers jersey being worn by the team for the first time.
A special 150th anniversary fan village will also be set up around the Aberdeen match and will include live entertainment and a pop-up museum exhibition.
RangersTV will host special pre-match coverage of the game whilst supporters are being encouraged to send in video clips of their anniversary messages to be displayed online and in the stadium.

Themed Rangers products will also be released in line with the club’s partners, whilst the Weekend of Legends’ match promises to be a spectacle to behold at the end of the month.
