Rangers release Castore 22/23 home kit as promo vid raises eyebrows

Rangers have officially launched their home kit for 22/23 with kit partners Castore as the club launch a special checkerboard design for the season ahead.

The retro style shirt will go on sale from today (June 24th) and supporters everywhere will be keen to get their hands on one ahead of the new campaign.

The impressive design has actually been received as one of the most popular since Castore came into the club in 2020.

The checkerboard design on the front of the shirt is supplemented by tidy cuffs of white and red around the neck and arms and we’ve got a feeling this top will be particularly popular.

This release however comes as no surprise to supporters amid a series of kit leaks and the fact Sports Direct launched it in their stores before the Ibrox club did in their own.

Rangers home kit launched against backdrop of calamities

Castore had sent out this season’s home kit to some supporters by accident earlier in the year, whilst the Rangers home kit was one of a series of leaks to come out of the retailer’s factory.

It’s not just Rangers who’d been affected, as a number of the retailer’s clubs saw images of their kits for next season released early, impacting the potential for marketing the tops.

Sports Direct have previous for launching early too and Rangers would’ve been bitterly disappointed to see Mike Ashley and co release the jersey in their stores before them.

After the same thing happened to Newcastle United, it had some questioning what was actually going on.

The promotional video for this year’s Rangers home kit has also come in for a little scrutiny from supporters due to how dark it is.

It’s just another element of this somewhat underwhelming kit launch which Rangers appear to have really lost control of.

But some are certainly at risk of blowing things out of proportion; what matters is that the jersey is popular and going by the replies, the design has been well received by the support.

It would just be nice to have at least a tinge of normality surrounding the club’s utterly bonkers retail operations for once.

There’s always the away kit, I suppose. Oh wait, that’s been leaked too.
