Rangers have rejected a series of loan bids for Leon King as Premiership rivals St Mirren reportedly eye a short-term deal for Ibrox starlet Alex Lowry.

The Gers are looking at the futures of several players on Deadline Day as the likes of Nicolas Raskin come into the club with more signings still potentially on the horizon.

Should more reinforcements come into the club it might have others on the fringes needing to move on to get more game-time and Ibrox talents Leon King and Alex Lowry fall into that category.

But despite the returning figures of Connor Goldson and Ben Davies at the heart of the defence, Rangers have held firm amid serious loan interest in Ibrox starlet Leon King.

Teenage centre-back King was thrust into the Ibrox limelight earlier in the season amid a devastating run of injuríes which saw the club without their two first choice centre-halves as well as Filip Helander and John Souttar.

As the more senior names return Leon King has been taken out of the firing zone but that doesn’t mean Rangers are ready to ship the player out in January.

According to the Athletic, Rangers have rebuffed several approaches from England and Scotland with the perfect solution yet to be found for Leon King.

Alex Lowry linked to St Mirren

Similarly, Rangers are only looking for the right fit for talented midfielder Alex Lowry, who needs to be playing more minutes to prove he has what it takes at Ibrox.

St Mirren, who’ve had a solid Premiership season under Steve Robinson, have now been linked in what poses an interesting option for Alex Lowry [Scottish Sun].

With the Buddies 6th in the Scottish Premiership it is all to play for this season and the Northern Irishman has them playing good football in Paisley.

Perhaps Alex Lowry can also take the necessary step in his development at St Mirren which was alluded to by Michael Beale as the window prepares to close.

Meanwhile, here’s the latest on those links to Cole Palmer.
