Rangers loanee Greg Docherty has had an excellent season at Shrewsbury Town so far.
He was sent away to get game time and to develop.
There’s no doubt he’s done just that. Today’s fixture against Luton Town, marked his 34th appearance of the season.

With Rangers’ current midfield resources, it’s far more game time than he would have been afforded at Ibrox.
He has also added goals and creativity to his game, scoring five and assisting six others in the league this season.
Shrews in trouble
Yet, his adopted side haven’t fared quite so well.
While they have pulled off a shock or two in cup competitions, their league form has been really poor.

That never looked like changing today, as they were soundly beaten by Luton Town.
A brace from James Collins and one for Matt Pearson, guided the visitors to a 3-0 win.
Docherty played out the full 90 minutes, but didn’t have the same impact as in recent weeks.

It was the Shrews’ third loss in their last four league outings, and that form has taken it’s toll.
They now drop to 23rd position, bang in the middle of the relegation spots.
Clearly, there is still a long way to go in the campaign. It’s also a very tight division, with only seven points between themselves and 12th placed Southend United.
Nonetheless, it’s a disappointing day at the office for Docherty, and his adopted side are now in an unenviable position.
