The Spanish striker spent six years at Ibrox between 2004 and 2010 and Rangers are synonymous with the ex-Raith Rovers, Dundee and Sporting Gijon striker.

Born March 26th, 1979, the striker was met by ex-teammate Marvin Andrews and a special Rangers birthday cake in the Ibrox home dressing room to celebrate.

With the Trinidad and Tobago centre-back leading the singing, the Rangers dressing room sing happy birthday to a smarting Nacho Novo who looks delighted.

Nacho Novo involved in special Rangers Legends match

Raising money for the legendary Portuguese winger’s foundation, the event also celebrated 150 years of the Ibrox club.

Nacho Novo was also involved in the game and set up Rangers legend Paul Gascoigne for what could prove a famous goal at Ibrox in the eventual 3-2 defeat.

Thousands gathered at the stadium – many with young families – to celebrate 150 years of Rangers Football Club and watch some of the biggest names in Rangers and football history go head to head.

The World XI would win the match 3-2, with Shota Arveladze putting Rangers ahead before goals from Carlos Marchena, Nuno Gomes and Ricardo Quaresma put the World XI 3-1 up.

Paul Gascoigne would then score to make it 3-2 and send Ibrox Stadium into delirium as the club celebrated the likes of Nacho Novo and other Rangers legends.

Meanwhile, several Premier League giants are said to be competing over the signature of Ibrox youngster Rory Wilson.
