Rangers fans have heaped praise on Borna Barisic for another outstanding display in the 5-0 win over Hearts.
Ahead of the game, we suggested that Jon Flanagan could get a runout at left-back, to give Barisic a well-deserved rest.
Yet, Steven Gerrard was having none of that, naming the Croatian international in his starting lineup for the 16th game in a row [Transfermarkt].

Once again, he was superb.
The player who struggled with injuries, poor form and a lack of confidence last season, has been one of the Gers’ most consistently impressive performers in recent times, and against a toothless Hearts side, he was given plenty of freedom to bomb down the left this afternoon.
Much of the praise sent his way by fans came as a result of his involvement in the opening goal.
11 minutes in, having been fed the ball in space by Glen Kamara, the 27-year-old whipped a stunning first-time cross to the back post which Alfredo Morelos powered past Pereira.
Much like his assist for the second goal in Rotterdam on Thursday night, it was the type of pinpoint delivery strikers dream of.

Thereafter, Barisic continued to threaten down the left flank, taking on opposition players and raining crosses into the area.
When on dead-ball duties, his delivery was also often dangerous and on the odd occasion the Jambos looked to venture forward, he was on hand to calmly snuff things out.
His transformation from potential flop to fans favourite has been remarkable, and the supporters once again lauded him on social media.
