Rangers have been linked with a move for Slovakia international Jan Gregus as his contract ticks down at San Jose Earthquakes.
According to La Gazzetta Express, the Gers are reportedly considering a move for the 34-cap Slovak star with his contract expiring come the 31st of December.

Standing at a towering 6ft3, Jan Gregus is a deep-lying playmaker type midfielder with an eye for a pass and a decent assist record in the MLS. Gregus made seven assists in 29 games for San Jose last season.
Having established himself at Banik Ostrava in the Czech Republic, Gregus did have a short loan spell with Bolton Wanderers although he never played for the first team.
The midfielder has also turned out for Jablonec in Czechia, FC Copenhagen in Denmark and Minnesota United in the MLS, with the 31-year-old an experienced campaigner in the middle of the park.
Some fans might even remember Gregus from a clash between Slovakia and Scotland where the midfielder scored one of his four international goals in a 1-0 win in September 2020.
Rangers to rival Rennes for San Jose’s Jan Gregus
Rangers fans have long bemoaned a lack of perceived creativity in the middle of the park and Jan Gregus certainly presents an interesting and different option.
But the Ibrox side are not the only interested party, at least according to the report, with Ligue 1 Rennes named as Rangers’ transfer rival in the Gregus pursuit.
The links to Rangers and the French top flight also come at an interesting time with something of a Ligue 1 merry go-round being lined up this January.
Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has been extensively linked with the Ibrox exit door and French outfit Nantes are the latest name to be mentioned.
However, those links appear to depend on West Ham interest in Nantes midfielder Ludovic Blas with this winter window set to be an increasingly interesting one post-World Cup.
Meanwhile, Rangers have been criticised for missing out on another midfielder.
