Rangers have sacked head of partnership management Oliver Pfeiffer after the senior Ibrox staffer was pictured in the away crowd in the recent defeat to Liverpool.
More pertinently, the Ibrox staff member actually uploaded a picture of himself appearing to goad the Ibrox faithful with the slogan “easy ok” after the 7-1 defeat to the Premier League giants.
The Scottish Daily Express report that Rangers moved quickly to remove Oliver Pfeiffer, who works in the Ibrox commercial department, after a fan backlash to the incident.
The picture began to spread quickly online after the embarrassing defeat with Rangers fans left aghast that someone from within the club could share something so arrogant online after a heavy defeat.
For many, it’s symbolic of a wider issue at Rangers with this sort of incident only heightening suspicions that there is something rotten in the state of Ibrox at present.
Rangers sack Oliver Pfeiffer after Liverpool gaffe
Oliver Pfeiffier might be a non-playing member of Rangers staff, but the most well-run clubs have people all pulling in the same direction and plenty are viewing the Liverpool fan’s contemptuous approach to his employer as endemic of the issues in the background of the club.
A senior member of James Bisgrove’s commercial and marketing team at Ibrox, this area of the business is under increasing scrutiny for not respecting Rangers fans for a number of reasons.
From MyGers to the relentless Castore kit releases, many Rangers fans are worried about the exploitation of their loyalty.

The Sydney Cup debacle also suggested many in the Rangers boardroom are out of touch with the support and many will be astounded Oliver Pfeiffier shared this image without fear of the repercussions.
The ex-Man City and Man United staffer joined Rangers last year, joining after three years with Umbro.
Meanwhile, one former Rangers star has been spotted back in Ibrox after leaving in 2020.
