Exciting Rangers prospect Dapo Mebude has previewed tonight’s Colts fixture against Berwick Rangers, on the Official Rangers Podcast.
The 18-year-old is very highly rated at Ibrox, making his competitive senior debut at Kilmarnock on the final day of last season.

He trained with the first-team squad throughout this pre-season, too, but realistically is not ready to play on a regular basis.
Therefore, it’s crucial he makes the most of playing time with the Gers Reserves and Colt sides this term.

Rangers attacker Dapo Mebude excited for cup test
“Me and the boys are looking forward to it very much, just testing ourselves against men”, Mebude told the Official Rangers Podcast. “We had a few challenges against first teams in pre-season and we’ve showed up well, so we’re looking to continue that in the cup.”
“Being with the first team has helped a lot. It makes me think quicker against better, bigger, stronger players. So, myself and Josh [McPake] and [Lewis] Mayo come back down and try to pass on that experience.”

As is touched on elsewhere in the interview, the young Gers lost to Falkirk at this stage of the competition last season.
Therefore, Mebude and co have extra motivation to put a run together this time around. Despite his age, the teenage attacker isn’t a world away from genuine first-team reckonings. Therefore, if he can continue to elevate his game, he might soon become a household name.
A goal or two this evening would be nice, but it won’t be easy travelling to Sheffield Park to take on the SPFL fourth-tier outfit.
