Fans praise Dapo Mebude following Rangers debut at Kilmarnock

Rangers ended the season disappointingly on Sunday, falling to a 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock.
The result meant that across four league matches this season, the Gers earned just two points against the Ayrshire side.

However, regardless of the result, it was still a special occasion for a potential star of the future.
Dapo Mebude.
The 17-year-old forward made his senior Rangers debut,
replacing Daniel Candeias in the 63rd minute.

He signed a new contract in January, tieing him to the club until 2021, a longer contract than is usually granted to players his age. Clearly, the club rates him highly, as does the manager.
The easy option would have been to send him on for the final five minutes. Yet, Gerrard gave the teenager a big vote of confidence by giving him the guts of half an hour to make an impression.

Unfortunately, there was to be no fairytale goal. He couldn’t lift the Gers’ lacklustre overall performance.
However, he did show some nice touches and did enough to impress plenty of Bears.

When he posted on Twitter following the game to express his delight at making his debut, hundreds of fans replied with supportive messages.
