Rangers boss Michael Beale has confirmed that the Ibrox side did bid for Swansea attacker Morgan Whittaker – but that the attacker won’t be coming to Glasgow this January.
The Gers were linked with a move for the 22-year-old forward after the Swans recalled the player from a form loan move at Plymouth Argyle in the first half of the season.

One of the stand-out performers in the English third tier, Rangers-linked Morgan Whittaker scored nine goals and laid on seven assists in 25 games for the Pilgrims before the January window.
But despite clear interest from Rangers – which played out in something of a public spat with Swansea manager Russell Martin – Michael Beale insists there are no hard feelings with the player to remain in Wales for the time being.
Rangers tabled solitary bid for Morgan Whittaker
The Ibrox boss insists only one bid went in for the player despite claims from the likes of Fabrizio Romano that Rangers tabled three offers.
“He’ll be staying at Swansea I believe,” said Beale, speaking ahead of Rangers’ midweek clash with Hearts [Rangers].
“There was one bid that went in and it got rejected and since then there’s been a lot of hot air around the situation. He’s a boy they like and that’s why they brought him back from Plymouth. They obviously have a plan for him.
“I thought he was the strongest or most eye catching player in League One this season and he’s gone back to Swansea and they’re probably looking at the league table and thinking he’s a valuable asset. No problem with that, he’s their boy and a good player and I wish him and Swansea well.”
The Rangers boss also went on the explain that the club are not looking at alternative targets with Michael Beale claiming there is plenty of competition in that area of the park despite the Morgan Whittaker interest.
However, there is some movement on those Nicolas Raskin links despite Michael Beale branding the latest claims “not true”.
