Australian manager Kevin Muscat appears fully focused on Yokohama F Marinos despite being interviewed for the Rangers job.
The former Ibrox star is one of four main candidates who’ve emerged to replace Michael Beale in Glasgow with the club’s search midway through a second week.
Having reportedly been interviewed for the Rangers job, Kevin Muscat was back on managerial duties with Yokohama F Marinos this week.
Taking charge of the Japanese club’s 1-0 League Cup win over Urawa Red Diamonds, after the game Yokohama boss Kevin Muscat was fully focused on Sunday’s second leg.
“Our approach is that there will be another new match,” Muscat said after the victory.
“Anyway, we went away to Urawa and achieved a solid result in 90 minutes. We will demonstrate what we have achieved. I think that’s important.
“We haven’t accomplished anything yet. The other match will be at an away location. Going into this match, we wanted to gain the upper hand, and we knew we were going to be aggressive and overwhelm our opponent.
“There may have been some dangerous moments in the first half due to the opponent’s long balls and counterattacks, but I think our players played well. It was by no means an easy match, but a tough match.”

It doesn’t give much away with regards the Rangers manager’s job but it’s clear that all of Kevin Muscat’s attention is on the task at hand with Yokohama F Marinos.
The Australian manager is one of four main names who’ve been mentioned for the Ibrox gig with the Oliver Glasner, Pascal Jansen and current frontrunner Philippe Clement also in the running.
Kevin Muscat is one of the more popular choices for the gig but there are others who have reservations around following in the footsteps of Old Firm rivals Celtic who found success with Ange Postecoglou.
