Rangers have not made contact with ex-Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner who this week has been speaking about PSG star Randal Kolo Muani.
That’s according to the Daily Record, who claim that Rangers have not taken it upon themselves to contact Oliver Glasner despite the manager instructing his agents to register an interest in the vacant Ibrox job.
Rangers have been linked to a host of names as they step up the hunt for a new manager but it appears that Oliver Glasner is not currently in the running.
This is despite reports last week suggesting that the Austrian boss, 49, was genuinely interested in taking charge of Rangers after the sacking of Michael Beale.
Rangers fans will be familiar with Glasner from his time with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, the coach in charge of the team when they lifted the Europa League at the expense of the Ibrox side back in 2022.

Rangers-linked Oliver Glasner talks PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani
Whilst the manager hasn’t said anything specifically about the Rangers job, Oliver Glasner was speaking last week about the form of PSG summer signing Randal Kolo Muani.
The Austrian signed the attacker from Nantes following that Europa League victory and developed him into the £76.4m player PSG signed in the summer.
Speaking about the attacker’s qualities, Oliver Glasner detailed how to get the best out of the French forward in comments which will give Rangers fans a small insight into the Austrian’s understanding of his players.
“For me, he isn’t a wide player,” Glasner, who coached Randal Kolo Muani to 23 goals in 46 games last season, told L’Equipe.
“The conventional winger is Ousmane Dembélé. I needed to see a Kolo Muani who scored goals, and out wide, he made lots of assists, but he scored very little.
“So he needed to be in the middle. But you can’t ask him to be static. I don’t think he’s at his best like that. He isn’t a physical striker like Olivier Giroud for example, he needs to use his pace.
“He is very intelligent with his movement, he also improved a lot with his left foot last season.
“Of course (he’s faced low blocks in Bundesliga). In the Bundesliga, there were certain games where we came up against 11 defenders! I don’t get the feeling that that bothered Randal.
“He is a good player with his head as well, so he can meet crosses, but he needs to arrive with momentum. If you leave him to battle like a pivot, he will find it more difficult to come out of the duel.

“I remember Champions League matches, against Tottenham for example, where he struggled to win the duel, and we saw that it was more difficult one-versus-one.
“Randal is an attacker who needs support. He can’t be isolated, otherwise, he can’t combine with the other players and use his speed.”
Whilst Rangers haven’t reportedly reached out to Oliver Glasner, the case of Randal Kolo Muani shows that the manager has big attributes when it comes to identifying and developing talent.
Once linked to the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, the coach is one of Europe’s most intriguing free agents but as things stand Rangers are looking elsewhere.
