Joey Veerman, the Dutch midfielder with who Rangers were heavily linked last summer, might still find himself in Glasgow.
With Giovanni van Bronckhorst having held positive talks with Rangers over the previous few days, if he was appointed, it could well mean good news for Veerman.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who plays for Heerenveen, was targeted by former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard in the summer with the deal potentially rising to £7m.
The side’s defeat to Malmo in the Champions League qualifiers however put the move to bed, with Gerrard having to rely on free transfers to shore up his squad.
This could all change if van Bronckhorst lands the managerial role at Ibrox. With the former Rangers player having a good knowledge of young Eredivisie talent, it could be the perfect move for the ambitious midfielder.
Veerman hasn’t shied away from the fact that he wants to leave Heerenveen, claiming that he was “upset” after a move to AZ Alkmaar broke down in the summer.
With Steven Davis out of contract at the end of the season and players such as Glen Kamara being linked with Aston Villa, it could be imperative that Rangers bring in a midfielder with the qualities that Joey Veerman possesses sooner rather than later.

Hopefully, any deal to bring in Giovanni van Bronckhorst can be confirmed as soon as possible so the Dutchman can get to work improving the squad.
Signing Joey Veerman would be an excellent start.
In other news, Rangers coach Jermain Defoe proves he isn’t going anywhere with recent social media post.
