Aston Villa are looking to renew their interest in Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara [Daily Record].

The Midlands side has shown an interest in the player before, with Dean Smith close to making an offer of around £6m to bring the Finnish international to Villa Park during the summer transfer window.

Steven Gerrard signed Kamara from Dundee in January 2019, initially on a pre-contract, however, this was made permanent after a fee was arranged between the two clubs.

The player was undoubtedly one of Gerrard’s best signings during his three and half year spell in charge of the club.

Kamara started his career off at Arsenal, making only one appearance for the Gunners in a League cup clash in 2015.

Loan moves to Southend and Colchester United followed without much success before Dundee brought him to Scotland in the summer of 2017.

His performances at the Tayside club persuaded Gerrard to bring him in six months earlier and it proved to be a fantastic decision.

The midfielder has also played a crucial role in the rise of Finland over the previous few years. He starred as the team qualified for Euro 2020, the countries first ever major competition.

If Gerrard does want Glen Kamara at Aston Villa, and most Rangers supporters expect him to, then we will lose one of our prized assets.
