There was a lot of hype over two signings made by Rangers last month.
Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe.

Now that both players have made several appearances, that fanfare has died down a little, but there was a big moment for Defoe at the weekend.
The 36-year-old striker netted his first goal at Ibrox, in the 4-0 win over St Mirren.
It came from the spot, after the usual penalty taker, James Tavernier, stepped aside.
It wasn’t just the goal which would have pleased Defoe and the Ibrox faithful, though.
The veteran put in an impressive overall performance.

He was never going to be firing on all cylinders straight away, having been starved of game time at Bournemouth over the first half of the season.
Even though he got off the mark after just 12 minutes on debut against Killie, his involvement in that game decreased as time went on.
Yet, sharpness and fitness levels have clearly improved since then.
Therefore, he was a constant menace for The Buddies’ defence at the weekend.

Only excellent saves and some misfortune prevented him from scoring from open play.
For that reason, he was named in the SPFL Team of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
He is the only Ger included, despite the resounding nature of Saturday’s victory.
An impressive start for Defoe, and hopefully the first of many accolades between now and the end of the season!
