Rangers are taking on Hearts at Tynecastle in today’s early kick-off in the Scottish Premiership.

It’s the first of seven huge games for the Gers in the space of 23 days, as they continue to fight for success on three fronts.

Steven Gerrard’s side go into this one a point behind Celtic but with a game in hand, while Hearts are second-bottom with six points.

Last time out, the Gers hammered Hamilton 5-0 at Ibrox, but three changes have been made to that starting XI [Rangers.co.uk].

In defence, Nikola Katic, who delighted fans by signing a new contract earlier in the week, returns in place of George Edmundson.

In midfield, Ryan Jack continues to miss out due to a calf injury, but Joe Aribo comes back in after starring for Nigeria last weekend.

Up front, the SPFL Player of the Month for September, Alfredo Morelos, returns in place of Jermain Defoe, despite the veteran going top of the league’s scoring charts with a hat-trick against Accies.

Meanwhile, there is room for fit-again Ryan Kent on the bench, as well as fringe player, Matt Polster.

Many fans reacted positively to the majority of the lineup, but plenty took exception to the omission of Greg Stewart, who they believed deserved a place ahead of Sheyi Ojo.
