Former Rangers winger Ronald de Boer has been speaking out to supporters ahead of his imminent return to Ibrox for the Weekend of Legends match.

The ex-Ibrox and Netherlands attacker will be donning the blue of Rangers for the clash at the famous ground to take on a star-studded World XI as the club celebrates its 150th birthday.

Joining a whole host of former Rangers – many of whom Ronald de Boer played with – the attacker is delighted to be a part of the celebrations and can’t wait to return to Ibrox.

“Hi there all the Rangers fans, this is Ronald de Boer,” said the former attacker [Rangers].

“I hope to see on the 26th of March (this coming Saturday) celebrating the 150th anniversary of our great Rangers FC.

“I hope to see you all there, we’re going to play a tough opponent in the World XI star players so be there, see you then!”

Ronald de Boer to join host of Rangers legends at Ibrox clash

Ronald de Boer will be amongst the most popular ex-Gers to return to Ibrox this weekend after an impressive four years with the club in the 2000s.

Famously turning down Man Utd to join Rangers in a £4.5m deal in 2000, Ronald went on to play 129 times for Rangers, scoring 40 goals and winning four honours, including the treble in 02/03.

Also turning out for Ajax and in Qatar in his career, de Boer made 67 caps for the Netherlands national team, scoring 13 goals.

Ronald de Boer will be taking to the pitch alongside fellow Rangers legends such as manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, ex-captain Barry Ferguson and even Nikica Jelavic and Sasa Papac, amongst many more.

Facing off against the Rangers legends will be a star-studded World XI that includes the likes of Luis Figo, Roberto Carlos, Gheorghe Hagi, Roy Makaay, Ivan Cordoba, Kaka and many others.

Speaking of Kaka, Rangers sent fans a reminder of the night the legendary Brazilian midfielder stole the hearts of the Ibrox crowd.
