Kaka tops list of legends set to visit for Rangers legends friendly
Ex-AC Milan and Real Madrid superstar Kaka is a former Balon D’Or winner and amongst the biggest names who’re set to descend on Glasgow this weekend.
Capped 92 times by Brazil, Kaka picked up the best player in world football gong in 2007 during his time in Italy and earned a then world record £56m transfer to Madrid in the summer of 2009 [BBC Sport].
But in the February of the same year, the Brazilian maestro stole the show at Ibrox in a special glamour friendly that eventually ended 2-2.
Standing head and shoulders above the likes of David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Alexandre Pato, Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf and the rest of Carlo Ancelotti’s superstars, Kaka scored in front of a 45k crowd in Govan.
DaMarcus Beasley had put Rangers ahead before Alexandre Pato had equalised and Kaka fired AC Milan in front.
Sasa Papac rescued a draw for the Bears on a memorable night in Glasgow but for those in attendance the match is mostly remembered for the half hour cameo of Kaka.
Thirteen years on, with Kaka now 39 and having hung up his boots with Orlando City in 2017, the midfielder returns this weekend.
Another Rangers and Ajax legend also announced during the week that he’d be returning to Ibrox for the mouthwatering clash.
