Reported Rangers target Kenny McLean has settled speculation surrounding his future by penning a new contract with Norwich City.
The 30-year-old former St Mirren and Aberdeen star has committed himself to Carrow Road until at least 2025, putting an immediate end to speculation regarding a pre-contract move to Ibrox.
Some Rangers fans were raising eyebrows when the club was linked with a move for the Scotland international, with the Scottish Daily Express even claiming that Norwich could be convinced to sell Kenny McLean in January.
Rangers have seriously underspent in the middle of the park of the last few seasons and – combined with McLean’s recent injury history – the contract situation had plenty sarcastically claiming he was the ideal Ibrox target.
But as things have transpired Kenny McLean has penned a new deal with Norwich, effectively putting an end to speculation Rangers could move in January or on a pre-contract in the summer.
Kenny McLean commits future to Norwich City
Having competed in the Premier League with the Canaries, and having played in 20 matches for the Championship club this season, McLean says he’s delighted to sign the contract.
“It’s something I’m really happy to get done,” said Kenny McLean [Norwich City].
“I’m really happy and settled at this football club and have made many happy memories here.
“On the pitch, highlights have been the two promotions. The changing room is excellent which makes it easier, you’re coming into work every day with your mates.

“It’s a great club to be at, they look after you off the field in a lot of ways. It’s a properly family club.
“We’ve now got a really important period coming up. We know we’ve got to improve on the pitch, but we’re raring to go and can’t wait to get back into the season again.”
Meanwhile, there certainly appears to be more to a Rangers kit drama than an initial law suit would suggest.
