Blackburn Rovers have reportedly had a seven-figure bid rejected for Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell amid links to Rangers.
That’s according to the Sun, who believe the Canaries’ weekend FA Cup opponents are the side who reportedly had a bid rejected earlier in the week.

Todd Cantwell was left out of the eventual 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers over the weekend amid links to Rangers with the 24-year-old’s future very much up in the air as things stand.
Out-of-contract at the end of the season, Cantwell was reportedly subject to Blackburn Rovers interest in the summer and it appears Rangers have competition to land the player this month.
It also appears that Rangers may need to cough up to sign the player despite the fact they could sign Todd Cantwell for nothing in the summer, something which the Ibrox board will be well aware of.
Rangers could be forced to cough up for Cantwell
If Rangers can strike a deal to sign the player at the end of his contract, then perhaps it would put them in a stronger negotiating position this month but it’s clear that Norwich are expecting to be suitably recompensed for a January transfer.
It presents Rangers with a sizeable dilemma when it comes to Todd Cantwell, who Michael Beale waxed lyrical about after the 2-0 victory over Dundee United.
“Todd was an excellent player when he was young and playing against my Liverpool Under 23s,” said Michael Beale [Rangers].
“I thought he would go on and have a fantastic career. He had that at the start and he is maybe just looking for a move to re-ingite it but I think he is a fantastic player at a good age.”
Blackburn Rovers – led by Jon Dahl Tomasson – are also said to be considering returning with another offer for the player.
Meanwhile, Rangers could be bracing themselves for a bid for one of the club’s key players.
