The British ambassador to Portugal has tweeted his congratulations to Rangers after the Ibrox club defeated Braga in the Europa League last 32.
Chris Sainty is the official Embaixador Britânico em Portugal and tweeted out his congrats to the Ibrox club whilst also sending his commiserations to Braga.
A self-confessed Liverpool fan according to his official Twitter profile, Sainty must’ve also cracked a smile for Rangers boss and Anfield legend Steven Gerrard.

The British ambassador to Portugal describes the victory as a “hard-won qualification” and sends his best wishes to everyone at Ibrox.
It’s the second time Rangers have been in Portugal this season, having already taken four points off Porto in the competition’s group stages.
Rangers are officially the first team in the hat for the Europa League round of 16 and will be watching on with quiet glee as results flood in this evening.
Rangers fans have been musing over the idea of drawing Celtic’s rivals Copenhagen in the next round of the Europa League, but could of course also face their rivals.
On top of that, it might not be the last tweet Chris Sainty sends this season either with Portuguese opposition still left in the competition.
Both Sporting Lisbon (3-1 up against Istanbul Başakşehir) and Benfica (2-1 down to Shakhtar Donetsk) could yet make the Europa League round of 16.
Could another trip to Portugal be on the cards for the thousands of travelling bluenoses?
