Alfredo Morelos’ ill-discipline may yet cost him more than just one individual accolade.
After his latest act of petulance at Parkhead last weekend, we speculated that he could have damaged his chances of winning the overall Player of the Year award.

However, he’s now suddenly under pressure for SPL top goalscorer, too.
Sam Cosgrove notched a brace for Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon, in a 2-0 win at Dundee.

It continued an excellent season for the big target man, who joined the Dons from Carlisle United last January.
Few would argue he’s as talented a player as Morelos. However, he certainly knows where the net is and has shown that consistently this season.

He now has 16 league goals, trailing El Bufalo by just one.
What’s more, he has a distinct advantage over the Colombian in the coming weeks.
Morelos misses Sunday’s clash with Motherwell and the following two fixtures after the league split.

Therefore, all he can do is watch on while Cosgrove has the chance to strike against Kilmarnock and the Gers.
There’s no doubt Morelos is the best striker in Scotland. However, his latest indiscretion has put his chances of officially being named so, in jeopardy.
