Striker looks to be Rangers bound again after posting Twitter farewell

It appears as though Greg Docherty is not the only Rangers loanee making his way back to Ibrox this week.
23-year-old striker, Joe Dodoo, looks like he’s packed for home, too, after posting a farewell message to his adopted side.

He’s spent the season on loan at Blackpool in EFL League One. Collectively, the Tangerines put in a fairly strong showing.
They finished a respectable tenth in the third tier, just four spots off the play-off places.
Individually, though, it was a different story. Dodoo offered moments of brilliance during a run of four goals in four games in November.

However, outside of that, he was largely ineffective.

He scored six times in 25 games in all competitions, with just two strikes and two assists coming in the league.
Those are hardly the sort of returns that will have made Steven Gerrard sit up and take notice.
For now, though, at least, he will head back to Ibrox.

He’s contracted to the club until the end of next season [
Transfermarkt], so he could conceivably form part of the first team squad for 2019/20.
Yet, it’s much more likely the manager will look to move him on.
With the current crop of strikers and homegrown players like Zak Rudden and Ryan Hardie also set to return from loan spells, it’s difficult to see where Dodoo would fit in going forward.
Whether or not the Gers can earn some money from a transfer, remains to be seen.
