Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo bounced back from Dundee United disappointment for Rangers with a double in a behind closed door friendly against Brentford.
A Gers XI drew 2-2 with the Premier League side and a clip has been uploaded of one of the goals as Amad Diallo showed his composure to cut inside and lash the ball in.
There is no doubting the Ivorian kid’s talent and if Rangers can get this type of performance in the main side then the short-term loan deal may well turn out to be a positive one.
But 19-year-old Amad came in for some criticism from supporters after the draw with Dundee United after spurning a golden opportunity to win the game.
Opting to shoot instead of square the ball to Fashion Sakala, the ball came back off the post and with Celtic winning later in the day Rangers now sit three points off the top.
Amad Diallo bounces back after Rangers disappointment
But it wasn’t just this golden opportunity that had Rangers fans on the youngster’s back as Amad Diallo also pulled out of a 50/50 and never played to the whistle with an offside call.
With so much pressure riding on this season, it led to complaints regarding the move with the Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson also coming in for flak.
These kind of things only happen when results aren’t going our way on the pitch and there were accusations that this move may not prove a fruitful one or suitable one for Rangers.

But as we can see with that goal against Brentford – Diallo’s second also coming via a rebound from a Kemar Roofe penalty – there is quality there and we need to find a way to access it.
As things stand, £19m winger Amad has flattered to deceive at Ibrox and as we head into the final furlong of the season the pressure is on both Rangers and the youngster to deliver.
Meanwhile, a BBC journalist has criticised calls from the tabloid media to see a Rangers midfielder retrospectively banned.
