Rangers loanee Amad Diallo scored twice this afternoon in a behind-closed-doors friendly draw at Auchenhowie with Brentford that saw Christian Eriksen continue his return to football by setting up both goals for his new side.
The Light Blues named a strong side, with the likes of Steven Davis, Glen Kamara, Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun featuring alongside some of the club’s Academy stars.
Zanka opened the scoring for the visitors early on, heading home an Eriksen corner before Amad levelled things up when he slotted home Mateusz Zukowski’s cross.
The Light Blues would take the lead ten minutes before the break, Amad netting after Kemar Roofe’s penalty was saved.
After going in 2-1 ahead at the break, Rangers would surrender their lead to another set-piece, Tristan Crama this time getting on the end of Eriksen’s free-kick and nodding beyond Robby McCrorie.
Substitutes Juan Alegria and Alex Lowry would both go close for the Light Blues as they looked for a winner but it wasn’t to be for the Gers against the Premier League side.
With Rangers facing Dortmund on Thursday, the return of Balogun for 45 minutes will certainly come as a boost for Gio van Bronckhorst.
Rangers loanee Amad’s double will hopefully provide a confidence boost for the teen after his performance in yesterday’s draw with Dundee United left fans unhappy.
It’ll be interesting to see whether he is given a chance against the Germans on Thursday as Rangers look to make the last 16 of the Europa League.
