Rangers U18s hammer Inverness Caley Thistle in stunning away display

Rangers U18s recorded another resounding victory on Friday evening, this time away at Inverness Caley Thistle.

This age group side have been in excellent form of late, dispatching Celtic 5-0 in the Scottish Youth Cup, before defeating Ross County 5-1 on the road last week.

This win was even more emphatic, though, as ICT were hammered 7-0 at the Highland Football Centre [RFC Youth Updates].

While prolific scorer Matty Yates wasn’t involved in this one, the Gers named a strong starting XI including impressive marksman, Alex Lowry, as well as summer signings Umaro Balde and Kane Ritchie-Hosler.

There was no sign of the coach journey in the U18s’ legs early on, as they took the lead courtesy of an Arron Lyall goal after just four minutes.

The scoreline stayed that way for some time before ex-Man City prospect Ritchie-Hosler doubled the advantage in the 41st minute. 2-0 up at half-time, the Gers were sitting comfortably. Yet, they still came out of the blocks in the second half and pushed on for more.

A third came shortly after the break courtesy of an own goal, before Northern Ireland youth international Chris McKee and several others, including recent signings Krystof Hampl and Julian Anderson, entered the fray.

In the midst of all the changes, Umaro Balde netted a fourth.

From there on in, it was the McKee show, with the teenage striker grabbing a quickfire hat-trick to take the scoreline to 7-0.

Another extremely impressive result for this age-group side, then, with the Young Gers continuing to show dominance on the domestic scene.
