Rangers U16s beat Queen's Park 5-3 at Rangers Football Centre

Rangers U16s emerged victorious from an eight-goal thriller at the Rangers Football Centre on Saturday in a 5-3 win over Queen’s Park [Rangers Youth Updates].

The Gers’ best young players endured months without action due to the global health crisis but the Academy resumed training several weeks ago and fixtures are now coming thick and fast.

The B team have benefitted from multiple run outs in recent weeks with varying levels of success, while the U18s drew 3-3 with Queen’s Park on Friday evening.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

The U16s shipped three goals against the same opposition on Saturday afternoon. Yet, crucially, they managed to score five of their own.

Adam Forrester, Ryan Duncan, Callum Sandilands and Rory Wilson (2) netted for the hosts, ensuring that at least one Gers age group side earned a victory this weekend.

The U16s regularly recorded dominant wins last season with the likes of Robbie Ure and Leyton Dunlop consistently getting on the scoresheet.

However, with those two players moving up to U18 level, others will now get opportunities to show what they can do.

The defence may need some work before the next outing but it seems there’ll be no problem getting goals out of this year’s group either.
