Rangers youngster Rory Wilson netted a double for the Scotland U17s as his last minute equaliser rescued a point for the Young Scots in their Euro group opener v the Czech Republic.

The Ibrox striker joined goalkeeper Jason Pazikas and centre-back Greig Allen in flying the Rangers flag as the Scotland U17s got their UEFA Under-17 Championship Elite Round campaign underway.

But things didn’t go to plan initially for the Ibrox trio as the young Scots found themselves 2-0 down come the halftime whistle.

Two quickfire goals before the turn of the half saw Scotland nerves frayed but the youngsters put in a valiant effort to turn the game around.

The second half was much brighter as Rory Wilson produced two second-half strikes to rescue a credible draw for the Scotland young team.

The Gers youngster hauled the Scottish U17s back into the match midway through the second half with a neat first touch finish after some neat work from Liverpool-bound Celtic talent Ben Doak.

Rory Wilson would then net a late equaliser after converting Dylan Reid’s pass to secure a point for the Scotland youth side in their opening match in the qualifiers.

Rory Wilson not only young Rangers star to make Scotland impression

Rory Wilson’s double also comes after fellow Rangers talent Alex Lowry netted a brace of his own for the Scotland U19s.

The Gers playmaker – who has been the breakthrough star of this season for the Ibrox side – netted both goals in a 2-1 win against Turkey in Hungary.

It proves there is plenty of talent in the youth ranks at Ibrox and fans will be delighted to see both Rory Wilson and Alex Lowry be the difference makers for Scotland.

Meanwhile, Rangers fans are being left behind as infighting threatens to mar the club’s 150th-anniversary celebrations.
