A Rangers coach’s remarkable haircut has gone viral on social media after he helped guide the club’s U18s to Scottish Youth Cup Final glory.
Ibrox youth coach Cameron Campbell was speaking to the media after helping guide the Ibrox Academy to the trophy with a 2-1 win over Hearts.
But it wasn’t the young coach’s insight into the world of football that grabbed the attention and the headlines as his haircut sparked plenty of discussion online.
The unique haircut sees Rangers coach Campbell with a tight trim at the back and sides but a heavy fringe that has been – jovially – joked about online.
We’re sure the Rangers youth coach can handle it but there has been plenty of interest online and it certainly hasn’t let up over the last few days.
As for the game, Rangers defeated Hearts 2-1 with much-talked about Ibrox youngster Rory Wilson nabbing what proved to be the eventual winner.
The talented young coach paid tribute to his Rangers charges after the match as the attention was kept on the football and away from his haircut.
“Proud is probably a good word to describe it,” said Campbell [Rangers].
“We see how much work the boys do on a consistent basis as they come through the Academy, seeing them get a moment like this to reach the Scottish Youth Cup Final and lifting the trophy is a huge moment for them and one that we are really proud to go see them do.
“As I said in the build-up to this, the boys were really looking forward to playing on the pitch, which is incredible, but also in the stadium with the fans behind them.
“It’s all a new experience and one that hopefully they will experience more in the Rangers first team soon enough.”
Meanwhile, a polarising ex-Rangers star has been caught up in a touchline spat with supporters of his current club.
