Academy coach Brown Ferguson has left Rangers in order to take up a managerial post.
As confirmed on Twitter on Saturday night, he has accepted the hot seat at Linlithgow Rose F.C., who play in the East of Scotland League Premier Division, having made the jump from junior football in 2018.
It means that he’s decided to leave Auchenhowie less than a year after taking up a role in the Gers youth setup, having been appointed in March 2019.
Aged just 38, Ferguson’s only previous managerial role came with Stenhousemuir between 2015 and 2018. Across those three years with Stenny, he experienced both relegation and promotion and was sacked last November, with the side sitting ninth in League One.
“The Rose were a hugely successful Junior team who have the ambition, ground and fan base to now progress in the senior game,” Brown wrote on Twitter.
“A very tough league awaits with some exciting games. It’s both a demanding and exciting challenge and a role I’m very much looking forward to.”
As yet, there’s been no official word from Rangers on the matter.
Linlithgow Rose are next set to be in action in the Scottish Cup second round against Stirling University on 20th October.
