Rangers have secured the services of Harvey Thayne as they continue their summer transfer recruitment, Rangers News understands.
Lawrence Shankland’s arrival from Hearts has undoubtedly been the headline maker for the Ibrox outfit, but they are adding to their youth sides as well.
Danny Rohl may not be sanctioning a lot of the academy signings, but he will be delighted to see the club building a team for the future.
Would you want Rangers to compete in the Europa League or the Conference League next season?
Money will be more in the Europa League, but the Conference League gives you a better chance of a European trophy…
Harvey Thayne will join the Rangers Under-15s side
Sources tell Rangers News that Thayne has completed his move to Ibrox, but will be part of the Under-15s side.
Last season, the teenager was at Hamilton’s academy on trial as he aimed to move there permanently.
However, due to injuries, he failed to get ample opportunities to make an impression and did not join them.
Which keeper should Rangers sign this summer?
Jack Butland could be on his way out…
That did not derail him as he kept working hard behind the scenes to finally seal a move to Ibrox.
The benefit for him is that his father, Steven, has been a Rangers employee since December 2024.
Steven Thyne is the club’s Ready Centre Co-ordinator as well as an Academy Scout.

Which academy players could be in line for first-team minutes next season under Danny Rohl?
The club’s academy has been known for churning out quality young talents regularly, and there will be a few players from there who will be a part of Rohl’s pre-season training camp.
The likes of Kyle Glasgow, Ashton Scally, Findlay Curtis, Aiden McCallion, and others, who have either made their first-team debut or trained regularly with the seniors, will undoubtedly be in line for more minutes than they got this past season.
Josh Gentles, an 18-year-old forward, is one worth keeping an eye on, and a player who surely will be a part of Rohl’s plans.
Who must Rangers sell as part of the squad overhaul this summer?
Cavenagh and Rohl have major decisions to make.
The same can be said about Rydnn McGuire, a 17-year-old goalkeeper, who travelled with the team to Spain before the split.
Midfielder Calum Adamson and defender Zander Hutton could also be given the chance to prove their worth in cup games.
Luca Rankin is another player who has been talked about a lot in recent months, and fans would want to take a look at him as well.
