Rangers have not been at their best in recent times and lost in the UEFA Europa League this week.
Many would have expected Rangers to win against Aris Limassol away from home in UEFA Europa League Group C on Thursday evening.
After all, the Gers beat Real Betis in their opening UEFA Europa League match.
However, Rangers lost.
Steve Davis’s first game in charge of Rangers as the caretaker-manager ended in a 2-1 defeat.
Borna Barisic struggling at Rangers
One of the players who did not play well was Borna Barisic.
Barisic started at left-back for Rangers.
The 30-year-old Croatia international left-back played for the entire 90 minutes.
Barisic struggled defensively, especially in the first half, and looked short of confidence.
The left-back could not offer much in attack.
Kris Boyd critical of Rangers left-back Borna Barisic
Former Rangers player and Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has not been impressed by Barisic this season.
Boyd has said that Rangers should have told the defender when they had the chance.
The left-back was linked with moves away from Rangers in the summer transfer window, but he is still at Ibrox.
Barisic is under contract at Rangers until the summer of 2024.

Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Barisic struggled again and you wonder why Rangers didn’t accept an offer for him when there was interest in him in recent windows.
“Like many of the established players, he is in a comfort zone because he knows the new signings aren’t up to it.”
Barisic has made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season.
The Rangers no. 31 has given two assists in those games.
The left-back made 27 starts and three substitute appearances for the Gers last season.
Barisic scored one goal and provided nine assists in those games.
