Recent reports not only link Rangers with Dominic Solanke, but suggest that a loan offer has been made.
The Liverpool player has been starved of action this year, not recording a single Premier League appearance. It is a remarkable decline in playing time for a youngster who made 21 appearances in the league last yet – although the majority of those were as a substitute.

Just 21, Transfermarkt estimate his value to be a cool £9 million. Significant for a man who can’t get a game.
Rangers know a permanent deal isn’t on the cards, but a short term loan could be beneficial for both parties.
The striker is surely desperate for game time, and there is a familiar face in Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, in the hot seat at Ibrox.
For Rangers, he would surely bring a degree of technical skill around the box that they currently lack.

Solanke may only have one Premier League goal, but he has 35 as a youth international for England. That’s undoubtedly an impressive record.
He may not offer experience, but he’s 6ft 2′ and would take some bullying in the box. Surely having been frozen out at Liverpool, he would arrive with bit between his teeth and a point to prove.
This deal makes sense for all involved. Rangers need short-term reinforcements and Solanke needs a big stage on which to prove himself.
Gerrard’s influence could be key in this one, and in terms of loan options, it’s unlikely to get any better.
