Rangers have confirmed the signing of NK Osijek defender Borna Barisic for a fee in the region of £2 million.
The 25-year-old, who narrowly missed out on making Croatia’s World Cup squad this summer after making the 32-man preliminary list, has finally been announced by the club after his medical on Monday, and has become Steven Gerrard’s 11th signing of the summer.

Barisic was targeted by the Gers after he shone for Osijek across both legs of the recent Europa League tie between the two sides, the second leg in which he managed to score.
With Barisic having now joined Gerrard revolution, the question must be asked; what happens to Declan John?

The Wales international was loaned to the Light Blues by Cardiff City this time last year, and the move was made permanent in December.
One has to assume that Barisic will become the first choice left-back, and Jon Flanagan has also been impressing in the role since signing on a free from Liverpool. Lee Wallace is also an option.
As reported by the Scottish Sun, John is a loan target of Championship side Swansea City, which would be a controversial move for him to make given his Cardiff roots, but something no longer out of the question due to his diminishing starting chances at Ibrox.
