Rangers won’t be the only ones signing a Right to Dream graduate from FC Nordsjælland this January as West Ham launch a move for Ibrahim Osman.
The Ibrox side are said to be close on a deal for 22-year-old Ivorian midfielder Mohamed Diomande, who has spent four years with the Superliga side.
Now, West Ham are looking to sign what would be their second player from the Right to Dream Academy, with the club splashing out £38m on Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus in the summer.
Ghanaian attacker Ibrahim Osman looks to be one of the brightest young talents coming out of the country and the latest suggests West Ham are going to splash out on the teenager.
West Ham move for Ibrahim Osman
Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that West Ham are locked in negotiations with FC Nordsjælland over an €18m (£15.3m) transfer.
It’s quite an eye-watering deal and shows the prospective talent Ibrahim Osman has with West Ham essentially skipping a transfer level to go straight for the wide man.
Rangers meanwhile look set to pay around £4.5m for Mohamed Diomande, with the long-term plan being to sell the midfielder on to the Premier League at a sizeable profit.
Generally, this is the route that Right to Dream Academy graduates will take; that is via a third tier league/club like FC Nordsjælland, then to second tier club/league like Rangers or Ajax, and then to a top five club or league, such as the Premier League.
It’s a testament to the talent Ibrahim Osman boasts that West Ham have gone right to source with the winger only joining the Danes 11 months ago.
Mohamed Diomande earns Rangers Right to Dream
The Right to Dream Academy is a quite remarkable youth football project which harnesses the power of the beautiful game to improve lives in West Africa.
Handing out 18 scholarships a year across 25k auditions, places are limited but the impact can be huge beyond football with some players even earning scholarships in the USA.
Rangers have got their own Right to Dream Academy star en-route – Diomande’s medical reportedly booked – and the Ivory Coast star will have his chance to leave an impression on the club.

The plan would then be to move the player on as part of Rangers’ player trading model but hopefully after a period of success in Glasgow.
Ibrahim Osman however is primed for the pressure arena of the Premier League with the global footballing audience now set to cast their gaze on the soon-to-be West Ham teenager.
